Pastured Pork
We offer only a few spots each year for people who truly appreciate our pork to purchase one of our pigs and we will raise it for them, according to the high standards we hold for our own families pork. We call this the custom grow out because when it comes time to butcher you get to decide how your pig can best serve you and your family. Do you love our truly nitrate-free bacon and fresh sausages then great, you can chose how many pounds you want. Do you want think beautiful chops? Do you want your own beautiful leaf lard? Bones for some of the richest broth you can make? You get exactly what you want. Maybe you want something completely different and you want your pig scalded and scraped so you can make your own prosciutto or cure your own bacon? No problem! That’s the beauty of the custom grow out program.
Once finished we will deliver your pig to the butcher who will determine its hanging weight, this typically averages between 200 and 285 pounds, and we will charge $7.60 per pound of the hanging weight. The butcher will process your pig according to your specifications, let you know when it is ready and you will pay your butcher cost and pick up your own family pig.
